La Maison de Tetes Girardin - Fine Dining Colmar
The romantic old town of Colmar in the wine region of Alsace in the North-East of France is not only a magnet for tourists from all over the world, but also home to a few Michelin-starred restaurants. The one I chose to try for this review was the La Maison de Têtes Girardin, decorated with one Michelin star.

Wine
No picture this time. I had two different glasses of local whites: First a Pinot Gris and then a Riesling. I liked both very much, but I didn't remember the producers. Next time I won't forget to take a photo of the bottles.
Summary
On leaving, when chef Éric Girardin came out to bid me farewell, I could see honest happiness in his face when I told him how excellent the evening has been. I'll be back, Monsieur :)

Verdict | Simply fantastic! To me, this restaurant deserves two stars from Michelin. An overarching theme, every dish tasting like a piece of heaven, elegant yet simplistic-Scandinavian atmosphere, and the most friendly and sincere service you can imagine. If you are visiting beautiful Colmar, be sure to dine here at least once. It's worth every penny! |
